The Odeceixe River, a natural border between the Algarve and Alentejo, is locally known as Ribeira de Seixe, meaning “torrent” in Arabic, though today it flows as a long, calm and peaceful river.
We paddle on flat, quiet waters through the beautiful Odeceixe valley, passing the village and following the river towards its mouth at Praia de Odeceixe. Along the way, you will discover a unique landscape of Mediterranean scrubland, small agricultural fields and tall reeds sheltering local wildlife.
